Book with us and help our charity!
Craft Studio is very proud of it's track record in encouraging thousands of children and adults to challenge their creative individuality using different artistic methods within their workshops. Here in the UK we are very fortunate in that we have so many resources within education that we can use to help us achieve our talents.
Your Booking Counts!
We want to make sure we give something back to those children who need it most, those children who do not have those resources! We want you to know that for every workshop booked by you, we donate 5% of the total fund towards the "Amani Children's Home" charity. By booking your workshop through us you will be helping generate opportunities for hundreds of children in less fortunate circumstances.
More about Amani Children's Home
Amani Children's Home was established on August 20, 2001 by local Tanzanians to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of street children in Moshi and Arusha. They named the new home "Amani," which means peace in Swahili.
Life on the streets is terrifying and dangerous for children, and from the very beginning, Amani has been a haven of peace for homeless kids.
Why are there street children in Tanzania?
The root causes behind children fleeing to the streets are complex and multi-faceted and each child has his/her own individual story and background. However, almost all children go to the streets seeking escape from hunger, abuse, or neglect. Other root causes include: HIV/AIDS, rising divorce rates, the lack of rights for women and children, the prohibitive cost of primary education, and the lack of a functioning social welfare system. For specific examples of reasons why children run to the streets, we recommend reading the children's individual stories on Amani's website www.amanikids.org
