Clay Modelling - For Schools

Working with clay is an invaluable educational activity at all levels. It is a step further to progressing from drawing and making those drawings come alive in 3 dimensional form. The interaction and imagination of a participant can be expressed in all manners of ways when working with clay. Who can resist picking up a cool piece of clay and squooshing and squeezing it; letting it ooze between your fingers or rolling it around on the palm of your hand?

In this workshop we introduce children to air hardening clay. We teach new ways in which to use this medium. Modeling - is interpretated by piecing together smaller units of clay, or by coiling clay, children can create figures, pottery, art ceramics, napkin holders, tiles anything they so desire. We will give them ideas and projects they can follow. There is plenty of room for individual thinking. The techniques are very simple yet effective and children will have so much fun. Once dried they can continue working on their designs using porcelain paint in different colours. Full Instructions will be given.
