Silk Painting

Silk painting is a delicate craft where patience and precision is required. In this workshop children will be introduced to the materials, specialist paints, equipment and items available to them. They will each work from a single silk frame and given a demonstration on how to paint onto silk either using freehand or from templates. Then it will be over to the guests to have a go at it themselves under the guidance of the tutor. Equipment includes paints, pens and pastels and outliners.

Participants can paint onto silk hankies, silk greeting cards and silk sheets like canvas which can be displayed or used time and time again. This workshop is aimed at older children to educate more intricate techniques within painting and art.
